New Delhi: Kings XI Punjab had a record-breaking performance in the IPL and became the first team in the history of T20 cricket to successfully equalize the 200-plus total 10 times. Their latest feat was a thrilling six-wicket win over Sunrisers Hyderabad, led by a composed unbeaten 69 from Shreyas Iyer.Chasing a daunting 220 in Chandigarh, Punjab got off to a good start thanks to the help of Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh. Arya was particularly explosive, knocking 57 off just 20 balls, while Prabhsimran scored 51 balls.

The duo put on 99 runs in the opening session and put Hyderabad under tremendous pressure early in the match. However, the match took a turn when left-arm wrist spinner Shivang Kumar countered with three quick wickets, eliminating both openers and Cooper Connolly. At that stage, Punjab needed stability and skipper Iyer stepped up to the plate. He first stabilized the innings and then accelerated brilliantly to reach 50 in just 24 balls.Iyer was supported by Nehal Wadhera and the two scored 69 runs together to get the chase back on track. Even after Vadra was sacked, Punjab remained in power. Most frequently chased teams with over 200 goals (IPL)

Shashank Singh then coolly did the job along with Iyer, hitting the winning boundary to seal a memorable win. Shashank also played a key role earlier and scored 2/20.Earlier, Sunrisers Hyderabad posted a mammoth score of 219/6 on the back of a strong start from Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head. The duo reached 120 for the first wicket, with Abhishek scoring 74 off just 28 balls, including eight sixes. Hyderabad dominated the early stages and Hyde soon made 38.However, Punjab fought back through Shashank Singh, who scored twice in succession to slow down the score. Hyderabad kept losing wickets at crucial moments as Heinrich Klaasen (39) and Ishan Kishan (27) tried to rebuild, falling just short of a bigger total. With this win, Kings XI Punjab remain unbeaten in the tournament, their third win in four games and underlining their reputation as one of the most dangerous chasing teams in T20 cricket.
