GT surpasses RR
The Titans put together an all-around performance on May 9, 2026, and recorded a dominant 77-point victory. GT, who batted first, posted a mammoth score of 229/4 in 20 overs, their highest total of the season.Captain Shubman Gill led the way with 84 off 44 balls while Sai Sudharsan contributed 55 as the duo posted a dominant 118-run opening stand. Washington Sundar then finished strongly with an unbeaten score of 37 off 20 balls. In reply, RR started attacking aggressively, thanks to an attacking cameo from teenage star Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who smashed 36 off just 16 balls, while Dhruv Jurel added 24 off 10 balls. However, Rashid Khan’s Super League changed the momentum completely and RR fell from a promising position to 152 in just 16.3 overs.Jason Holder also played a key role with the ball and GT’s disciplined bowling team ensured that the momentum of the chase after Rashid’s breakthrough was never restored.
