Indian migration agent banned from Australia for five years for lying on visa application: ‘Not a man of integrity’

Vaneet Kaur Chadha banned for 5 years

An Indian migration agent in Australia has been banned for five years for submitting false information in a visa application and breaching multiple professional rules, The Bulletin reported. Vaneet Kaur Chadha worked for Crown Immigration and Education Consultants Sydney but her registration was canceled last month following an investigation by the Office of the Registration of Migration Agents. The watchdog said it launched the investigation after reviewing Chadha’s visa application to the Home Office, where officials discovered a number of issues. In her findings, O’Mara said Chadha “failed to act within the law” and failed to declare immigration assistance she provided to clients. The investigation also found that she provided false and misleading information and made knowingly inaccurate statements in her visa application. The agency further concluded that she engaged in misleading online advertising that suggested she had a relationship with DHA when she did not, and failed to properly supervise staff. The investigation also found that she allowed someone within her business to illegally provide immigration assistance.Investigators said Chadha failed to meet professional standards, including failing to “take all reasonable steps to safeguard the reputation and integrity of the immigration consulting profession.” The ruling added that her actions were “designed to defeat the purposes of the immigration laws and were designed to evade the requirements of the immigration laws”.O’Mara ultimately ruled that Chadha “is not a man of integrity or a fit and proper person to provide immigration assistance.”Chadha first registered as a migration agent in 2016. Videos of her promoting immigration services in English can still be seen on her former employer’s social media accounts.“With many years of legal experience in immigration matters, and being an immigrant myself, I understand how stressful the immigration journey can be,” she said in a video. In another post, she warned applicants against submitting false documents, saying: “Stay honest and avoid future trouble. Your integrity is important. “The consultancy, also known as Royal International Immigration Consultants, says on its website it has been operating since 2007 and helps thousands of people each year with student and other visa applications. The company itself has not been accused of any wrongdoing.
