Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced the arrest of Nava Kumar Tupili, an Indian man who was earlier convicted of sexually abusing a minor. “Nava Kumar Tupili, an illegal immigrant from India, was convicted of accosting children for immoral purposes and using a computer to commit a crime in Wayland, Michigan,” the Department of Homeland Security said. ICE said it had detained the man because he was in the United States illegally. Tupili entered the United States on a student visa that was revoked in 2024, ICE said, adding that the county jail honored ICE detainees and handed the man over to ICE instead of releasing him.Over the weekend, ICE arrested illegal immigrants across the country for despicable crimes, including child sexual assault, human trafficking for sex slavery, sexual solicitation of minors, rape, kidnapping and other egregious crimes, the department said.“Over the weekend, the heroic men and women of ICE arrested illegal aliens convicted of some of the most serious crimes imaginable, including sex trafficking, child rape and kidnapping,” said Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis. “ICE law enforcement never takes a day off, even on weekends, to remove criminal illegal aliens from American communities. ICE said they were all convicted in separate states and were living in the country illegally.
