Mike Vrabel, Dianna Russini photos from 2024 add fuel to new tweet: “Right after he got fired…”

Sightings of Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini in 2024 recently surfaced, adding another layer to the growing controversy between the two. TMZ Sports on Thursday posted a photo of the New England Patriots coach enjoying time at a casino with a former sports reporter after he was fired by the Tennessee Titans.

Casino sightings after Titans exit

Vrabel and Russini were reportedly spotted together at the Beau Rivage Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi, on the night of Jan. 31, 2024, just weeks after the coach was fired by the Titans after a disappointing 6-11 season.

One witness said they initially thought Russini was Vrabel’s wife because the two looked comfortable. The pair were seen drinking, chatting with other patrons and walking between tables. When Vrabel left the roulette table to play blackjack, Russini followed suit, although she reportedly sat across from him.

The two allegedly stayed inside the casino for at least half an hour before leaving.

Timeline raises new questions

The timing of the sighting sparked new discussion because it occurred shortly after Vrabel lost his head coaching job at Tennessee. He later served as a consultant with the Cleveland Browns and eventually as head coach of the New England Patriots.

This latest detail adds to the expanding timeline of reported interactions between the two. PageSix posted a series of photos, first of their outing at a resort in Arizona this year, and then of the two allegedly kissing at a New York City bar in 2021.

The aftermath continues

After the controversy, Vrabel publicly acknowledged the situation and said he was working to improve it, including planning to seek counseling. He is expected to miss Day Three of the 2026 NFL Draft.

Meanwhile, Russini resigned from his position at The Athletic and has largely stayed out of the public eye since.

Mike Vrabel responds

Vrabel, 50, issued a statement to the New York Post regarding Thursday’s report.

“As I said the other day, I promise my family, this organization and this team that I’m going to do everything I can to show them the best version of me,” he said. “In order to do that, I have committed to seeking counseling from this weekend. It is something that I have considered very carefully and something I would advise players to do if I were counseling them.”

“I’ve always wanted to lead by example and I believe that’s what I have to do in order to be the best husband, father and coach I can be,” Vrabel continued. “This is not an easy thing for me to admit, but I know it will make me a better person. I appreciate the support everyone has given me and promise to be even stronger because of it.”

Dianna Russini Twitter

Meanwhile, Russini’s 2021 tweets about her son are in the spotlight. She wrote: “Continuing to watch my almost 4-day-old son Michael while trying to figure out who the best player and coach the NFL has ever been?”

Interestingly, Vrabel, whose name is also Michael, had a long career as an NFL player before becoming a head coach.

Patriots statement on Mike Vrabel

“The New England Patriots fully support Mike Vrabel’s decision to put his family and his own well-being first. Mike has been open with us about his commitment to being the best version of himself for his family, this team and our fans, and we respect the steps he has taken to fulfill that commitment.

“We are confident in the leadership and communication Mike has established with our personnel staff during the pre-draft process. While he will not be at the facility on Saturday, we know the draft evaluation has been completed and Elliott Wolfe and his personnel staff are ready to execute our draft as planned this weekend.”
