The ship, which was carrying an Iranian crew, was found to be carrying a large quantity of smuggled foreign brand cigarettes.The Indian Coast Guard said in a post onAfter boarding the vessel, officials confirmed the vessel was almukhtar. The ship was manned by four Iranian crew members. During a detailed search of the storage area, police discovered 200 boxes containing approximately 10 packs of foreign brand cigarettes. The carton is hidden deep inside the container.The ship and its crew have been detained. The Coast Guard said the vessel was being escorted to porbandel We will also conduct further investigations and joint inquiries with relevant departments.The seizure came just days after another maritime operation.
