Indian-American Rep. Sanidhar tells “racist” Brendan Gill what the internet keeps reminding him of. “You married an Indian-American”
Representative Brandon Gill Known for his comments targeting Muslims and H-1B visa holders. Whenever Gill rails against Indians living in the United States, the internet is reminded that he is married to an Indian-American, Danielle D’Souza Gill, the daughter of MAGA commentator Dinesh D’Souza. This time, Indian-origin Congressman Shri Thandar reminded Gill of this, and Gill shared something he had said recently. “Calling us racists no longer works. The left has a debate strategy: call you a racist and pray you shut up. I never will,” Gill said.Sanidal responded to Gill’s comments, adding that no one called Brendan Gill a racist to silence him. People called him a racist because he called Indian Americans “7-Eleven workers.” Sanidar said. “But the fact that you are married to an Indian-American shows that you are just a liar pandering to a racist base. It’s so sad to be so cheap,” Senedal said, sharing a screenshot of Gill’s social media post referring to “7-11.”7-Eleven is an American convenience store chain headquartered in Irving, Texas. A few months ago, Gill said it would be foolish for the United States to hire 7-Eleven workers from India or some other country because these are not professional occupations or technical positions. In fact, his video was a response to a YouTuber’s video showing an Indian man working at a 7-Eleven store in Texas.
Reaction to Sanidar vs. Gill fight
“He didn’t call Indians 7-Eleven workers. He called 7-Eleven workers 7-Eleven workers. We have actually issued H1-B visas to 7-Eleven workers. That’s what he was referring to. Apparently,” one user wrote. Many X users commented that Thanedar did not understand Brandon’s English and made a mistake because Brandon did not call Indian Americans 7-Eleven workers, but he said 7-Eleven hired Indians and not Americans.
