“People hate me because I’m Indian American Cowboys and ranchers. The truth is, I never set out to fit anyone’s idea of ​​what a cowboy should be – I just went to work, raised cattle, and chased my dream. Hatred won’t build fences, feed cows, or stop me from adding miles. If anything, it makes me work harder. ” Tesh Jennings wrote on Instagram while responding to the hate he received in the video.

He added, “My dream has always been bigger than my hatred. I wanted to buy this land, expand my ranch, raise more cattle, and continue to build something that represents hard work, perseverance and determination. That’s what ranching means to me.”

He also urged social media users to donate to his GoFundMe titled “From Hate to Hope: Help Me Expand My Ranch.”

A description of his mission on his GoFundMe page reads: “There is so much hate for me as an Indian-American cowboy and rancher.”

It continues, “If you want to be a part of this journey [expanding his ranch] And to help turn something negative into something positive, you can donate to my fundraiser. Every bit of support means so much and I am sincerely grateful to everyone who believes in this dream. “

What did the video that sparked the controversy show?

A text was inserted at the beginning of the video that read: “Not all Indians can code. Some of us wear boots, raise cattle, and grow food.”

After he sent out a powerful message to trolls, a wave of social media users rallied behind him to express their solidarity and support.

“This is the immigrant we want,” one person wrote. Another said, “It’s a blessing to be you. Others just can’t handle it. Let them judge you and remember their opinions don’t matter to the growth of your life. They don’t have any right to say or judge.”

A third posted: “You’re doing great. It’s eye-opening. I love what you do. Maybe I’ll be a rancher one day.” A fourth commented: “What you’re describing is literally the American dream.”
