delhi capitals captain Axar Patel There are few answers after his team suffered two heavy defeats in less than 48 hours in IPL 2026.After failing to defend 264 against Kings XI Punjab on Saturday, Delhi were bowled out for just 75 against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Monday.Delhi lost 6-9 in Powerplay Bhuvneshwar Kumar Move with the new ball and Josh Hazlewood Nice use of short ball scheme. This became the team’s lowest score of the season and RCB completed the nine-wicket victory with ease.“Even I don’t know what happened. That’s why they say you have to be alert in cricket. We have to move on from this game,” Aksa said in his post-match speech. He also recalled key moments from recent games, including a single miss against Gujarat Titans and Karan Nair’s catch-fault against Kings XI Punjab.“From today’s perspective you can say it did work, but you can look back and if the catch had been successful (Nair) or we had scored a single against GT, then we would have kept the momentum going. This game is such that there is no room for ifs and buts. You have to stay positive, you have had a bad day and take positive lessons from the last 5-6 games,” Aksa added. However, the Delhi skipper did not think there was much chance of a swing, even after Bhuvneshwar’s inswinger bowled out debutant Sahil Palach.“I’m not surprised, they are world-class bowlers and they swing at every pitch, but if our openers or top order had got them going, the result might have been different.”Hazlewood, who dismissed KL Rahul and Nitish Rana with short balls, said he was not sure what to expect on the pitch after scoring over 500 runs in the previous game at the same venue.“Probably coming here after scoring over 500 runs in the last game, not sure what to expect,” Hazlewood said, adding that he was following in the footsteps of Bhuvneshwar.“Just following his (Bhuvneshwar’s) lead. There was a point in the first six overs – it was enough, and it started slipping fast from a short distance. Once the ball softened, it became more even,” Hazlewood said.He also explained how he planned to sack Rana.“Generally, you want the batsmen to hit the ball into the wicket and into the V. The short ball is good too, it’s just accuracy. When the ball is good and hard, it’s difficult to hit the ball. It would have been nice to hit four and walk off the course,” Hazlewood said.RCB captain Rajat Patidar also admitted that he was surprised by the performance of the pitch.“Even I was surprised by the way the wickets played,” he said.“All credit goes to the bowlers Bhuvi and Hazlewood. They hit the right areas. The swing was normal but the good thing was we got wickets early and that kept us in the driver’s seat. The way Suyash Sharma bowled, stump to stump, was really something to watch,” he concluded.
