HR executive caught up in Coldplay kisscam scandal to host $875 crisis meeting: 'What's the topic?' Destroying homes?

The former HR boss caught up in last year’s viral Coldplay kisscam scandal will return to the spotlight as the keynote speaker at a high-priced crisis communications conference in the US.Kristin Cabot, the former chief people officer of tech company Astronomer, will speak at PRWeek’s 2026 Crisis Communications Conference in April, tickets are $875. Cabot will appear alongside crisis communications expert Dini von Muffrin, who hired the firm after the scandal broke.Cabot, a 53-year-old mother of two, was at the center of drama in July 2025 after she and Astronomer chief Andy Byron embraced on a stadium screen at a Coldplay concert in an apparent affair. Both were married at the time. The video instantly went viral.Astronomer later tried to defuse the controversy in a bold move, naming Gwyneth Paltrow, the ex-wife of Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, as interim company spokesperson in a hilarious video. Despite their efforts, Cabot and Byron resigned within weeks.Byron largely stayed out of public view. Cabot gave several interviews in December, saying she felt she had been branded a “scarlet letter” (the public stigma of adultery). Now, she’s ready to address the topic that led to her downfall.According to the meeting agenda, Cabot and von Mueffling will moderate a 30-minute session titled “Kristin Cabot: Taking Back the Narrative.” “Cabot has experienced firsthand the extremes of public humiliation that women experience chronically under negative media attention, a situation that their male counterparts often seem to avoid,” the description reads. It added that Cabot and her PR consultants will share “strategies to help Cabot control her narrative and rewrite her story – both in the short and long term.”The conference promised attendees tools to “immediately respond to unexpected events that are now the norm rather than the exception.” The meeting will be held on April 16 in Washington, DC.The announcement was considered ridiculous, especially in terms of entry price. Some social media users said the tickets were more expensive than seats at a Coldplay concert.

Social media reaction:

  • Even if you paid me $875 I would not attend this event.
  • This is sad – cheating will get you further than real effort/achievement.
  • What is the theme? Family destruction and how to humiliate yourself globally?
  • She created the narrative. Way to play the victim.
  • Will there be a kissing scene?
