A bench of Chief Justice Ashutosh Kumar and Justice Arun Dev Choudhury decided to club them after hearing three PILs filed by the Assam Committee of the Communist Party of India, Communist Party of India (Marxist) and Hirendranath Gohain and two others.Abhishek Manu Singhvi, senior lawyer of CPM’s Assam unit, said Sarma made the controversial remarks even after the apex committee formally issued notice to him on the issue on February 26.
