New Delhi: Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge on Sunday accused Kuomintang He was suspected of “money laundering”, questioned his source of income, and asked why he didn’t pay taxes.Speaking at an event here, Hager alleged financial irregularities and demanded greater accountability from the organization.“It (RSS) has a network of more than 2,500 organizations, they are from the United States, the United Kingdom. They take money from them. I tell you – these people are laundering money,” he said.Questioning its funding, he added, “They want us to be good citizens and pay income tax, but they want to remain free. How is that possible? We’re going to have to question that.”Haq said the laws and constitution that apply to everyone in the country should also apply to the RSS. Later, speaking to reporters, he noted that the RSS was an unregistered organization and asked “whether they are above the law or the constitution.”“It is good that all organizations should be governed by law and constitution, whether it is RSS or any other organization. Are they above law and constitution. Mohan Bhagwat (RSS president) said it (RSS) is an individual group. Same goes for Bangalore Club, are they not registered? Don’t they pay taxes?” he further asked. He said his question was why the RSS was not registered and “where did their Guru Dakshina (donations) come from.”Haggar said, “If we ask RSS about the source of money, they told us that we will get Guru Dakshina. But, when I did some research, according to them, Guru Dakshina means ‘flag’. So, tomorrow morning, if I also hoist the blue flag and collect money, I will ask the government and them (RSS) if they agree.” Therefore, no one can escape unfounded remarks. From now on, I will not give up until this RSS organization is registered in accordance with the constitution and law.““Who is paying? Why (RSS) is not paying tax? When everyone else’s every rupee is being counted, why is there no accountability for their (RSS) money,” he asked.Haq also hit out at the organization over the issue of patriotism, saying: “The RSS has not hoisted the national flag at their offices for 52 years. They teach us patriotism. ““The Ramayana written by Valmiki is different; what is happening now is different. Politicians and religious leaders are talking about religion whatever they want. No religion incites violence. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat advocates that a person should have three children, but he is not married. Yet, he talks about raising other people’s children. So, the BJP keeps talking inside and outside, sending the children of the poor to the streets,” Haggar said.Meanwhile, Haqq launched a sharp attack on the demand for conferring Bharat Ratna on Veer Savarkar, asking why a man who he said was “anti-Bharat” should receive the country’s highest civilian honour. In a post shared on X, Haq posted a long list of questions targeting Savarkar’s role in the freedom struggle. His attack was in response to comments made by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on February 8 during a two-day lecture series titled “100 Years of Sangh Journey – New Horizons”. Replying to a question on the postponement of the Savarkar Award, Bhagwat said the award would enhance the prestige of Bharat Ratna itself. Bhagwat further said that he was not a member of the decision-making committee but would raise the issue if given an opportunity.
