New Delhi: Defense Minister Rajnath Singh Criticized Pakistan Defense Minister on Tuesday Khawaja Asif He recently targeted Kolkata, calling the remarks provocative and warning Islamabad not to repeat past mistakes.Singh said: “Pakistan’s defense minister should not have made such provocative remarks. 55 years ago, they suffered the consequences of Pakistan being divided into two parts. If they try to set their sights on Bangladesh, only God knows how many parts Pakistan will be divided into this time.”Earlier, Asif warned that Pakistan may attack Kolkata if “any accident happens in the future” to India. Speaking in Sialkot, Asif said, “If India attempts a false flag operation again, then, God willing, we will take it to Kolkata.”Also Read – ‘We will take it to Kolkata’: Pakistan Defense Minister Khawaja Asif warns India of ‘unfortunate events ahead’He also claimed that New Delhi may be planning a “false flag operation” to blame Islamabad, but he did not provide any evidence.Tensions between India and Pakistan have been high since the Pahalgam attack on April 22 last year, when Pakistan-backed terrorists killed 26 civilians, mostly tourists. The attack led to a brief but intense military confrontation between May 7 and 10.Hostilities eased after Pakistan sought a ceasefire, which India accepted but insisted the military response under Operation Sindoor was merely a pause. New Delhi also claimed that it would not differentiate between terrorist groups and Pakistan’s military leadership in its response.Earlier, Asif described Pakistan’s response to any Indian action as “swift, targeted and decisive”, in response to Singh’s warning that any future “unfortunate incident” would invite “unprecedented and decisive” retaliation.Previously, Pakistan’s former High Commissioner to India Abdul Basit made the above remarks. He said that if India’s nuclear arsenal is threatened, Islamabad can target major Indian cities such as Mumbai and New Delhi, and believes that India will become the “next best choice.”“If anyone casts an evil eye on us, we will not hesitate to attack Mumbai and New Delhi,” Basit added.
