Hansard died in a single-vehicle accident in his hometown of Dublin on Wednesday morning, the BBC reported. Emergency services were alerted to the incident at around 4.30am and authorities are now looking for witnesses.

Glenn’s family are deeply shocked and heartbroken by this tragic loss and respectfully ask for privacy at this extremely difficult time.”

Glenn Hansard’s acting career
Born and raised in Dublin, Hansard left school at 13 to pursue busking and formed Frames in 1990.
