Gambhir also made a point of seeking blessings during his recent travels. Earlier this season, he visited the Kamaga Temple in Guwahati ahead of the third match of the five-match T20I series against New Zealand. After that match, Gambhir and the Indian team also offered prayers at the Sri Varaha Lakshmi Narasimha temple at Simhachalam in Visakhapatnam before the fourth T20I match. leader Suryakumar YadavIndia went into the tournament as one of the favorites. If the season is successful, the Men in Blue will become the first team to defend the Men’s T20 World Cup title. With no host nation ever winning the trophy, India have the chance to achieve something unprecedented and stopping them from achieving both milestones will require an extraordinary effort. India’s depth and quality in the shortest format sets them apart. This team is widely considered to be a stronger team than the one that went unbeaten in the United States and West Indies two years ago. Their last defeat in a T20I series was in August 2023, and since the last World Cup they have posted an impressive 6.5 win-loss ratio in a format known for sudden swings. The preparations are also very thorough. India’s recent five-match T20I series wins over South Africa and New Zealand under Suryakumar’s leadership further underlined their dominance over the Proteas. India continued that dominance with a 30-run victory over South Africa in the official warm-up match on Wednesday and will look to maintain their momentum in the opening match against the United States.
