First photo of Nancy Guthrie kidnapping suspect: FBI shares chilling photo of man in ski mask tampering with camera

The FBI has released surveillance photos showing an armed man wearing a ski mask tampering with Nancy Guthrie’s home security cameras the morning she disappeared, FBI Director Kash Patel said. FBI Director Kash Patel said. The black-and-white photos, four of which show the suspect, were “recovered from residual data on the back-end system,” Patel wrote.Surveillance video shows a person wearing a ski mask holding what appears to be a plant in front of the camera.“Working with our partners – as of this morning, law enforcement has discovered these new, previously inaccessible images showing an armed man who appears to have tampered with the camera at Nancy Guthrie’s front door the morning she disappeared,” he added.Tuesday’s announcement is the first time law enforcement has released any information on possible subjects since the 84-year-old disappeared ten days ago, and the first time police have focused on any suspects after what has been described as a painstaking and fruitless investigation, the New York Post reported.Nancy was last seen on January 31, when her son-in-law abandoned her at home. She was reported missing the next day after she failed to show up at a friend’s house to watch a Sunday church broadcast. The search was declared a criminal investigation on February 2 after news outlets received an alleged ransom letter demanding $6 million in Bitcoin. The note provided no proof of life or a deadline for ransom, saying Nancy would be in danger if the ransom was not paid. The note came and went on Monday without any apparent incident.Police admitted they had no suspects and no leads as Nancy was described as being in desperate need of daily medication due to health issues.
