Ex-British police officer accused of defrauding Dior, Cartier and Apple in refund fraud

A former Metropolitan Police officer has been accused of defrauding luxury brands of thousands of pounds by falsely claiming expensive online purchases never arrived.Sunna Harrison-Aziz, 28, allegedly purchased items from brands including Christian Dior, Cartier and Moncler through false non-delivery claims, The Daily Telegraph reported.Products mentioned in court included a Dior bikini worth £700, a Cartier wedding ring worth almost £2,000, a Moncler jacket worth £840 and an Apple MacBook worth £2,599 bought from Currys.Prosecutors allege Harrison-Aziz improperly accessed police systems while committing the fraud between January and September 2022.She was charged with a number of offences, including fraud, abuse of police powers and attempting to interfere with the investigation. The court heard she allegedly hid her phone from investigators and falsely claimed it was damaged and lost before destroying it after police raided her home.Harrison-Aziz, from Croydon, south London, denies all charges. The investigation is being conducted by the Metropolitan Anti-Corruption and Abuse of Power Command, overseen by the Independent Office for Police Conduct. She appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court alongside Edgar Moraes, who is accused of encouraging the abuse of police powers. Another defendant, Eugene Nunoo, did not attend the hearing because his train was cancelled.During the hearing, District Judge Daniel Sternberg rejected a request by Harrison Aziz’s attorneys to prevent the media from revealing her identity because of concerns about her mental health and anxiety about public exposure. The case will be heard at Southwark Crown Court on June 2. Harrison-Aziz remains free on unconditional bail.
