At least eight workers were burnt alive and two others may have been trapped after an explosion sparked a fire at an illegally lit factory in Alwar Bhiwadi industrial area in Rajasthan, officials said. About 25 workers were present when the stored gunpowder and cardboard caught fire, which quickly intensified, they added. Authorities evacuated nearby factories and cut off power, and firefighters battled the blaze for several hours before basically bringing the blaze under control. Delhi High Court grants interim bail to Rajpal Yadav in check bounce case
Actor Rajpal Yadav has been granted interim bail by the Delhi High Court after he deposited Rs 15 crore in a check bounce case that led to him being lodged in Tihar Jail. The HC court suspended the sentence till March 18 but attached conditions including payment of personal bond of Rs 1 lakh and surety of equal amount. The relief was granted after the court noted that the payment had been credited to the defendant’s account. Yadav sought bail on the grounds of a family wedding and the matter will be heard on the next scheduled date. Read more
