Defense Acquisition Council (DAC), chaired by the Federal Minister of Defense Rajnath Singh Approval has been approved for the procurement of 114 Rafale fighter jets, combat missiles, air-ship-based high-altitude pseudo-satellites (AS-HAPS) and other defense equipment from France at an estimated cost of Rs 3.6 billion. The committee approved Acceptance of Necessity (AoN) for the Multi-role Fighter Aircraft (MRFA) project, which aims to strengthen indian air forceair superiority and long-range strike capabilities. The family of Jaahnavi Kandula, a 23-year-old Indian student who was hit and killed by a Seattle police car in January 2023, has reached a $29 million (approximately Rs. 260 crore) settlement with the city government. Officer Kevin Dave was responding to an emergency call at 74 mph when the collision occurred. Body camera footage later showed another officer making comments about the incident, which sparked public criticism and led to his firing. Haryana woman crushed to death after drunken policeman’s car rams e-rickshaw

Nikita Bajaj, a 24-year-old private company employee in Gurgaon, died after the e-rickshaw she was riding in with her brother was hit from behind by a speeding car driven by Haryana police chief Amit Kumar near Kalipaltan Bridge in Ambala Cantonment on Wednesday night, police said. The impact threw her onto the road and the car ran over her; she was rushed to the Ambala Civil Hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead. Lamborghini crash case: Kanpur court grants bail to Shivam Mishra

Bangladesh: BNP leader Mohibzaman Kochi dies at polling station

BNP metropolitan party leader Mohibuzzaman Kochi, 60, died at a polling station in Khulna, Bangladesh, on Thursday morning, reportedly after being pushed by supporters of rival Jamaat, party officials said. Kochi, the former Khulna Metropolitan BNP office secretary, was allegedly pushed while opposing campaigning at the Aliya Madrasa poll center in Khulna, causing him to fall and hit his head.
