Eric Swalwell’s ‘best friend’ admits on rape allegation: ‘I was caught in a lie’

When asked if he should have taken action when he first heard the “rumor”, Gallego admitted he should have discussed it with him.

He expressed deep regret for the way he was deceived, saying: “I was fooled like everyone else. I was fooled. I regret it. But that’s what happened.”

Swalwell Resignation and House Ethics Committee Investigation

Swalwell previously led campaigns to become the next governor of California. scandalHe submitted his congressional resignation to the House clerk on Tuesday after a fifth woman came forward to accuse him of sexual misconduct.

Swalwell refuted all accusations. “I will fight those serious, false accusations — but this is my fight, not the campaign’s fight,” Swalwell said in a social media post.

The House Ethics Committee said Monday, April 13, that it has launched an investigation to determine whether Democratic Rep. Eric Swalwell of California engaged in sexual misconduct with a staffer he supervised.

The committee stressed that the investigation does not imply any wrongdoing.

“The fact that it is investigating the allegations … does not in itself indicate that any breach occurred,” the panel said.
