Leader of the Opposition in the Kerala Assembly VD Satheesan has expressed delay in releasing official poll data for the April 9 polls and urged the government election commission of india Publish the data immediately.In a letter to the pollster on April 12 and shared on social media on Monday, senior leaders of the Indian National Congress party said that even three days after polls ended, key election data was still unavailable, raising concerns about transparency.“I would like to draw your attention to the delay in the release of official data related to the Kerala Assembly elections to be held on April 9, 2026. Although three days have passed since the polls ended, detailed and verified data – including constituency polling data, constituency vote percentage and postal vote statistics – are yet to be released on the official website,” he said.Stressing the need for timely disclosure, Satheesan said, “The timely release of such information is critical to ensuring transparency, promoting public oversight and maintaining trust in the electoral process.”He further urged the Commission to “take immediate steps to publish complete electoral data without further delay”, noting that verified information is crucial for stakeholders including voters, researchers and political representatives.The Kerala Assembly polls recorded a voter turnout of 78.03%, with the ECI saying the election was conducted peacefully and was supported by extensive live webcasting.Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar described the April 9 elections as a “historic testimony” of democratic participation.Meanwhile, senior Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala expressed confidence in the UDF’s victory, claiming voters are ready for a political shift in the state
