T’puram: The EC on Monday asked Thiruvananthapuram district collector seeking a report on BJP Katttakkada candidate PK Krishnadas’ controversial speech that victory of LDF or UDF would boost “love jihad‘In Kerala. The EC also sought legal advice on the matter.Addressing an election rally chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Krishnadas claimed that the LDF and UDF were closely associated with the Samajwadi Party and Jamaat-e-Islami and voting for either front would lead to widespread incidents of “love jihad”. He further claimed that if UDF or LDF came to power, JEI or SDPI would control the government.Krishnadas claimed that pro-Pakistan extremist groups would actively promote “love jihad”. “Hindu and Christian girls are drawn into ‘love jihad’. These elements then use them for anti-national activities,” he said.emphasize CPM He said Congress and Congress are one and the same and “voting for Congress or CPM will lead to ‘love jihad’. This is likely to be the case in Kerala.”State president Rajeev Chandrasekhar tried to distance himself from the BJP’s remarks, saying the party did not share the concerns expressed by Krishnadas.
