During the SCO, Rajnath discussed developments in West Asia with the Chinese Defense Minister

Over the past few months, both sides have taken a series of steps to rebuild relations.According to Xinhua News Agency, Dong Jun said in his speech at the SCO, “We must deepen defense and security cooperation and promote the SCO… to be more united, closer coordinated, more dynamic, and more effective.” He added that SCO member states should “resolutely safeguard the international order and jointly safeguard fairness and justice… eliminate the soil that breeds unrest and conflict through common development.”Rajnath also met Russian Foreign Minister Andrei Belousov during the meeting and discussed key aspects of bilateral defense cooperation. He also met with the defense ministers of Kyrgyzstan and Belarus. Before the diplomatic exchanges began, the minister laid a wreath at Victory Square to express his condolences to the fallen heroes.
