Donald Trump thinks drinking soda can kill cancer cells, health experts say: 'It's freshly squeezed, how bad can it be?'

US President Donald Trump has reportedly suggested that diet soda may help fight cancer because pouring it over it kills grass. Muhammad Oz. Oz serves as Administrator for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.Oz shared this claim on Donald Trump Jr.’s podcast. He described a conversation with Trump in which the US president linked soda’s effects on plants to its possible effects in the human body.“Your dad thinks diet soda is good for him because if you pour soda on grass, it kills the grass, so it must kill the cancer cells in the body,” Oz told Trump Jr. On the podcast, he added that he was surprised by the reasoning. He also recalled another moment aboard Air Force One when Trump was seen drinking a soft drink and repeating similar thoughts.“He had a bottle of Fanta on the table and I said, ‘Are you kidding me?’ So he started laughing sheepishly and he said, ‘You know, this stuff is good for me, it kills cancer cells.'” Trump also added that Fanta is “fresh squeezed, so how bad can it be for you?”Oz further said that Trump loves diet soda and often uses the red button in the Oval Office to request one during meetings. The comments came during a discussion between Oz and Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., both of whom talked about encouraging healthier eating in America. However, Oz said Trump continued to consume sugary and diet drinks as well as fast food, especially McDonald’s.Trump has long been known for his unusual views on health and diet, including past remarks questioning the value of exercise and promoting the “battery” theory that the body has limited energy. Although medical experts have criticized the health effects of diet soda,Trump’s health has also drawn public attention, with photos showing him with visible bruises on his hands during official appearances. The White House has previously said the traces may be related to frequent handshakes with world leaders and taking aspirin. However, some Democrats question whether Trump is still fit to serve as president of the United States.
