Speaking during a surprising press interaction outside the construction site, Trump described the ballroom project as both a ceremonial venue and a major security structure, Mirror America reported.

Discussing the ongoing construction work, Trump said the building was designed with extensive safety measures in mind.

“Everything you see, the money to build the ballroom…it’s all needed; air conditioning, heating, drone capability, protective shields,” he said.

“You know, ballroom became a shield for everything you see here,” he said. “Without this, they wouldn’t be able to build the lower floors without shielding on top.”

“The entire roof was developed for the military,” he said, adding that personnel stationed there would have a “360-degree view” of Washington.

According to Trump, the rooftop will have significant drone defense capabilities.

“Not only is it drone-proof, but if a drone hits it, it bounces away,” he claimed. Trump also said the roof would serve as a “drone port” and insisted the project would be the “safest building ever built.”

The White House has not publicly released technical details or independent verification related to the security capabilities Trump described in the briefing.
