CHANDIGARH: The search and rescue operation for 59-year-old Indian rally driver Hari Singh continued for a second day on Friday, with rescuers now limiting their efforts to the coral reef area near Vavu Atoll in the Maldives where a speedboat accident occurred on Thursday, reports Sukhmani Kunal. Professional diving teams will search for them on Sunday. Hari Singh’s son has rushed to the Maldives to oversee rescue efforts and is now returning to India to reunite with his mother and sister. Singh’s close friends have remained in the Maldives and are coordinating with the Maldivian authorities and the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre. Colleagues, friends and associates were shocked. Raj Kapoor, president of the Federation of Motorsport Clubs of India, said Singh’s transition into his role as a champion driver and within the JK Tires Motorsport program has been extraordinary.
