Both Kharge and Deve Gowda are retiring and may return to the House of Commons.Deve Gowda responded in a statement from X. “This is my response, light-hearted and matter-of-fact, explaining why I was forced to ‘divorce’ myself from Congress,” he said, tagging the Prime Minister’s Office.“My dear old friend Mallikarjun Kharge made a light-hearted comment… If I respond in the same language, I was in a ‘forced marriage’ with the Congress but had to be ‘divorced’ as it was an abusive relationship,” he said, referring to developments in Karnataka in 2019.
