GONDIA: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar will take over as NCP national president on February 26, senior party leader Praful Patel said on Wednesday.The announcement marks a leadership change in the Nationalist Congress party following the death of Sunetra’s husband and deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar A plane crash occurred on January 28.“After Ajitdada, we are filling the vacuum in our party. We are an independent party and we are doing the right thing for our party. Deputy Minister Sunetra Pawar will take over as NCP national president on February 26,” Patel told reporters.
Replying to a question about the merger of the two NCP factions, Patel stressed that it was not the right time to talk about the issue.Deputy Commissioner Ajit Pawar and four others were killed when a Learjet 45 charter plane crashed while landing near Baramati in Pune district.
