New Delhi: Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Monday said the Delhi government is committed to taking concrete and practical steps to address the issues faced by sanitation workers.According to an official statement, during an interaction with representatives of the sanitation workers union, the chief minister directed the authorities concerned to review all matters raised by the union and ensure prompt action.The union representatives expressed concern over the practical challenges faced by the community, raising demands for recruitment and regularization of sanitation workers as well as workplace safety, wage-related issues and other conditions of service, the statement said.They also made recommendations to the chief minister for better medical facilities, permanent employment and a more dignified working environment befitting the nature of their work, the statement said.
