During singer D4vd’s preliminary hearing, Celeste Rivas’ family lawyer addressed graphic evidence presented in court, releasing new details. After the hearing, attorney Patrick Steinfeld told TMZ that the crime scene photos were very disturbing and painful for Celeste’s family. He said the images were so shocking that Celeste’s mother cried throughout the hearing. Patrick Stanfield spoke outside the courthouse after Tuesday’s hearing and shared what he saw inside. According to him, the photos shown as evidence were “creepy” and difficult to watch.Stanfield said the photos were so disturbing that Celeste Rivas’ mother, Mercedes Martinez, cried throughout the hearing and never recovered from seeing them.He also described the moment when Deputy District Attorney Beth Silverman asked an LAPD detective what one of the photos showed. According to Stanfield, the detective responded that it was Celeste’s head. He claimed the remains were in such bad condition that they could not be identified as human.Stanfield also said he believed the evidence presented during the hearing was. He added that in his opinion, if D4vd was found guilty, he should be sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
D4vd maintains not guilty plea, prosecutor outlines charges
Prosecutors say D4vd lured Celeste Rivas to his Hollywood Hills rental and killed her because they claimed she planned to expose their relationship. They further claimed that her dismembered body was later left inside the singer’s registered Tesla.D4vd denies all accusations. He has pleaded not guilty to each of the charges against him.The charges include first-degree murder with special circumstances. Prosecutors also charged him with lying in wait, committing a crime for financial gain, murdering an investigation witness, engaging in lewd and lascivious sexual acts with a person under 14 and mutilation of a human body.This is only the prosecution’s accusation, and no court has yet made a verdict. Legal proceedings are ongoing and both parties will continue to state their positions as the case progresses.This is where a preliminary hearing comes into play, as it gives the judge a chance to determine whether there are enough grounds for the case to proceed to trial.
