Mumbai: Sunrisers Hyderabad get boost after 57-run win rajasthan royalswith the captain Pat Cummins Will rejoin the team after recovering from back injury.A report on the Cricket Australia website on Thursday mentioned, “Latest scans on his back clear the way for Pat Cummins to return to the IPL. Cummins has been cleared to resume bowling without restrictions after undergoing a fresh back scan in Sydney, paving the way for his return to the IPL.Cummins’ latest set of scans on Wednesday confirmed that the stress problem in his back that had limited him to a single match of professional cricket since August last year has now been resolved.“The Australian pace spearhead will return to India on Friday to join his Australian teammate Travis Head at Sunrisers Hyderabad for the remainder of this year’s IPL. Cummins’ latest set of scans on Wednesday confirmed that the stress problem in his back that had limited him to a single match of professional cricket since August last year has now been resolved. “Cummins is expected to rejoin the team in the coming days but will not play immediately. The veteran fast bowler will feature in SRH’s match against Rajasthan Royals on April 25. “While Sunrisers will host Chennai Super Kings this weekend and Delhi Capitals next Wednesday, Cummins’ cautious attitude towards a return has him targeting April 25 against Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur to make his return to the squad,” the CA report mentioned.Cummins is expected to take over the captaincy of SRH from India wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan, who has been leading the team in Cummins’ absence so far. The Hyderabad-based team is currently ranked 4th in the IPL standings with 2 wins.Cummins’ return is going according to his carefully laid plans and he will feature in the second half of the IPL ahead of an intense period of Test cricket in Australia, which could include the playoffs, with Australia potentially playing as many as 21 Test matches in the coming year.Australia assistant coach and SRH head coach Dan Vettori recently praised the 32-year-old Cummins’ fitness as “excellent”. “His fitness has been outstanding because he’s obviously been out for a long period of time, so he’s had time to do conditioning work, which is a real workout around strength and conditioning. Obviously, it’s been a tough process to get the load to a level where he feels confident and strong against the bowling,” Vettori said.Cummins arrived in India on March 27, a day before Sunrisers Hyderabad’s first match against Royal Challengers Bangalore, and returned to Australia after the second match against Kolkata Knight Riders on April 2.
