CSK coach reveals how ‘long conversations’ with MS Dhoni helped Noor Ahmad dismantle KKR

Chennai Super Kings assistant bowling coach Sridharan Sriram reveals Noor Ahmed benefit from MS Dhoni During an online training session, he was advised to practice leg rests.Noor took 3/21 in four overs as Chennai Super Kings defeated Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2026 on Tuesday. He played a key role in breaking up the middle order when Kolkata lost control of the chase. After the game, Sriram talked about Noor’s adjustment and role Dhoni play a role in his preparation.“It’s good. The wickets were helpful today. He’s had a little bit of a turnaround. The other wickets were flat but a bit slow in the air today. There’s more sidespin on the ball and more drop,” Sriram said.“It’s something he’s been working on. Even MS had a long chat with him in one practice, especially about how to rest his legs. I thought that was very helpful today and the results were there to see,” he added.Sriram emphasized the importance of spinners avoiding straying off the pitch.“I think it’s important to be able to create some deviation on the surface. I think that’s what he’s been working on. Everyone accepts that there comes a time when wickets are going to be very flat.“But still being aggressive, getting the ball revs and getting the spin on the ball will definitely help him a lot, and that’s where you can induce errors. Because once you start defending, then the batsmen are going to overwhelm you,” he said.Noor has taken four wickets in five games this season, three of them in this match. The nature of the field early in the game also resulted in his limited return, according to the coaching staff.Chasing 193 runs, Kolkata posted a score of 79/3 in the 10th over before Noor batted in the 11th over. He dismissed Ajinkya Rahane and Cameron Green for consecutive shots, reducing their shooting percentage to 85/5.Rovman Powell shot an unbeaten 31 and Ramandeep Singh (35) tried to revive his form but could never keep up with the pace required.
