U.S. builder builds homes for Indians with puja rooms, spice kitchens; Trump aide says ‘complete end to H-1B visas’

The decline in Texas home prices coincided with an exodus of Indian-Americans.

Republican Brandon Gill, who has rarely hidden his hatred of immigrants, including Indians despite being married to Indian-American Danielle D’Souza, reacted to a report that President Donald Trump is cracking down on a declining housing market in Texas. H-1B visa Abuse. Bloomberg recently reported on the housing crisis as Indian Americans who rushed to the market and decided to settle in the United States during the pandemic have now been considering leaving the country. The New York Post reported that real estate company CBRE Group confirmed that H-1B workers have brought a real estate boom to the United States in 2018 so far, and their influence exceeds that of any other factor. Here are some shocking numbers about Indian Americans in the United States

  • Census data shows that Collin and Denton counties have the fastest growing populations among counties with at least 1 million people in the United States.
  • Collin County’s Indian-born population will average more than 116,000 per year in the five years ending in 2024, a significant increase from 70,000 in the previous five years.
  • In Frisco alone, a city of 235,000 residents, the share of Indian residents surged from about 6% in the early 2010s to nearly 20% in the mid-2020s, census data shows.

The demand for homes among Indian Americans was so great that builders customized homes for these customers. Zach Schneider of Tradition Homes, a builder in North Texas, designed the model home with a north-facing “puja” room for Hindu prayers and an optional “spice kitchen” for Indian buyers.
