New Delhi: Congress on Saturday condemned the US and Israeli attacks on Iran and called on the Indian government to help “immediately end” the hostilities and ensure the security of all Indians in West Asia.Jai Ram Ramesh Said: “For weeks, President Trump has been engaging in diplomacy and negotiations with Iran. Encouraged by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and American hawks, he has launched a military offensive aimed at achieving regime change.” Ramesh said Congress “condemned this attack” and “called on the government to help end hostilities.”
Congressman Rahul Gandhi said: “The rapid escalation of hostilities between the United States, Israel and Iran is worrying. The security of every Indian citizen in the Middle East must be our top priority.”Meanwhile, the Congress termed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Israel as “shameful” and “untimely”, saying it would give the impression of political support for military escalation. Ramesh said Modi “celebrated his visit to Israel” two days after Israel and the United States began a joint attack on Iran.
