“Seriously…how petty and irresponsible…we were just there to watch a basketball game and our kids were playing kids’ games…this is horrible!” they added.

The Christiansburg Police Department has not yet handled the matter. It was not immediately clear what the suspect’s details were or whether anyone was injured.
Some people reacted to news of the shooting there. One person, citing police scanners, said the suspect had been captured. “I saw that too!! Good! That was crazy. There were a lot of kids there..!!!!!” another person responded.
The poster also stated that the basketball game where the fight allegedly occurred was a “men’s league.” They added, “We just came off a game there.”
Others claiming to be witnesses described apparent chaos at the scene. “We were just there watching a game too! Luckily we left minutes before this happened… this is crazy!” one person said. Meanwhile, some expressed outrage over the incident. One person said, “People are so ignorant these days. It’s crazy. Same in town,” while another added, “Crazy crazy!! People don’t care anymore.” People even expressed disbelief, calling the situation “unreal.”
Someone pointed out that a large children’s basketball tournament had been held there the day before. Another brought up gun control and asked: “Do they have metal detectors? Can they ban guns?”.
The small town of Christiansburg is nestled between the slopes of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the winding New River in southwestern Virginia. According to the official website, it has a close-knit community and is known as a leisure, business and cultural destination.
