China requires high-risk groups to undergo cancer screening

China’s Ministry of Health is urging people at potential risk to get screened for cancer as part of a wider push to improve disease prevention and control. Lei Haichao, director of the National Health Commission, said at a press conference on Saturday that people aged 50 and above, long-term smokers, those with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or a family history of lung cancer are recommended to receive annual low-dose spiral CT scans. The Chinese government is advancing actions to strengthen the comprehensive cancer prevention and control plan by 2030.(Bloomberg)
