14 year old boy dies Celeste Rivas According to TMZ, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has officially ruled it a homicide. In what marked a turning point in the case, Los Angeles police arrested David Burke, also known as D4vd, on Thursday.

The ruling came months after Rivas’ decomposing remains were found in September 2025 in a car registered to the 21-year-old singer. The car was found abandoned near the Hollywood Hills before being towed away. Authorities then smelled a foul odor, which led to the gruesome discovery, NBC News reported.

Arrested after months of investigation

“Let’s be clear, the actual evidence in this case will show that David Burke did not murder Celeste Rivas Hernandez and was not the cause of her death,” Pitchfork reported that D4vd’s attorney, Blair Berk, said.
Burke further defended D4vd’s innocence, saying, “No grand jury returned an indictment in this case, and no criminal charges were filed. David was only detained on suspicion. We will vigorously defend David’s innocence.”
