According to the New York Post, the knife Anthony used to stab Metcalf was a multi-tool with a serrated blade that sold for $13 from Walmart. The knife he used was from Walmart’s camping brand Ozark Trail. The Collin County District Attorney said it had a 3.5-inch blade.

The knife is a 6-in-1 multi-tool that comes with a flashlight and glass breaker. “This knife is ideal for hunting, camping or those who travel frequently,” the Walmart listing reads. The blade was powerful enough to kill Metcalf, a 200-pound football player. The stab wound caused a two-inch gash to Metcalf’s chest.

While blades of this size are legal to carry in Texas, they were not allowed at the Frisco school where the murders occurred.

Anthony fled the scene and discarded the weapon. Frisco Police Department School Resource Officer Jacob Schaltz later found it ajar. Schaltz demonstrated at Anthony’s trial how to open the knife with a flick.
