The fire was first discovered near Hazen and Rooks roads around 3 p.m., AZ Family reported. By about 4:15 p.m. local time, the fire had grown to an estimated 10 to 12 acres.

A spokesperson for the Buckeye Fire Department told 12 News the fire was “inaccessible,” which complicated efforts to put it out.

Officials said there were no reports of structural exposure or injuries.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
