local radio station KFI AM 640 Report The warehouse is operated by a company called Lineage. Firefighters believe ammonia was leaking from the warehouse during the fire, the report states.

NBC Los Angeles reported that the fire was first reported at 2:30 p.m. PDT in the 1400 block of South Los Palos Street in Boyle Heights. It added that there were no reports of injuries.

The Los Angeles Fire Department issued a shelter-in-place order due to “hazardous materials nearby.” The nature of the hazardous substance was not disclosed in the alert, although reports suggested it was ammonia.

Residents are asked to “close all doors and windows. “Turn off air conditioning/heating” while in shelters.” Alert reading.

It added: “Keep all people and pets indoors and close all vents until further instructions are received. You will receive updates when the danger has passed and it is safe to go outside.”
