Chandigarh/New Delhi: Political tussle breaks out in Punjab amid back-to-back blasts in Jalandhar and Amritsar, with the BJP and Samajwadi Party criticizing the state government over law and order, while CM Bhagwant Mann Accusing the BJP of trying to create unrest “on the Bengal model” to win the 2027 polls. The BJP turned to Solicitor General Gaurav Yadav’s suggestion that Pakistan’s spy agency ISI was involved in disrupting the anniversary of Operation Sindoor, alleging that Aam Aadmi’s party inner circle was making divisive remarks. “This is an insensitive statement,” said BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra, highlighting the contradiction between Mann’s allegations and Yadav’s statement. Bharatiya Janata Party chief Sunil Jakhar warned that the party would take all legal measures to oust the “irresponsible Mann”. When Punjab learned of the blast, Mann said: “This is the way the BJP works… To campaign, they create riots, carry out small explosions, divide people…” Sudan Democratic Movement chairman Sukhbir Singh Badal called on Mann to resign, noting that three bombings had occurred in ten days.
