The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has increased the reward to $1,000,000 for the arrest of Bhadreshkumar Chetanbhai Patel, a fugitive on the Ten Most Wanted list. Patel, an Indian national, was placed on the FBI’s Most Wanted List on April 18, 2017, on suspicion of murdering his 21-year-old wife. Palak Patelon April 12, 2015, at a Dunkin’ Donuts store in Hanover, Maryland. He was 24 and his wife was 21 at the time. The couple were working the night shift at the store when the attack occurred.According to the FBI, just before midnight, Patel stabbed Palak multiple times in a back room of the store. He immediately fled the scene.After leaving the donut shop, Patel went to the apartment he shared with his wife, grabbed some personal items and cash, and took a taxi. The driver took him to a hotel near Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey. He checked in early in the morning, wearing only the clothes he had on.Later that morning, Patel was seen leaving the hotel at Newark’s Penn Station. This remains his last confirmed sighting, and there have been no confirmed sightings since.The FBI said Patel should be considered armed and extremely dangerous. Investigators believe he may have ties in Canada, India or several U.S. states, including New Jersey, Georgia, Illinois and Kentucky.“We hope this $1 million reward will draw more attention to our relentless search for Bhadreshkumar Patel and provide us with information leading to justice for Palak Patel,” said FBI Baltimore Special Agent in Charge Jimmy Paul.“The increased reward reflects the seriousness of Patel’s crimes and the fact that all of the cases are on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list,” the agent added.The FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list is a long-standing law enforcement initiative to enlist the public’s help in finding dangerous fugitives. Since its establishment in 1950, many fugitives have been captured based on reports from citizens.Anyone with information about Patel’s whereabouts is asked to contact the FBI through the tip line or its official website. Authorities asked the public not to attempt to arrest him on their own.BhadreshkumarPatel was born on May 15, 1990 in Kantrodi Ta Viramgam, Gujarat, India. He is an Indian national, has brown hair and brown eyes, is 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs approximately 165 pounds. Patel worked at a donut shop before fleeing.
