Befitting reply to Delhi’s zamindars: Mamata in Bengali New Year message

Kolkata: On the occasion of Bengali New Year, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Extending “Poira Bhojshah” greetings to the people and urging voters to give a befitting reply to the attempts of “Delhi Zamindars” to wrest the people’s voting rights.In a post on X, she expressed her hope that the Bengali New Year would make people’s lives “flawless”. She also highlighted the cultural heritage of Bengal, adding that the country is a symbol of communal harmony.The current chief minister alleged that some “malicious forces” were trying to destroy this harmony and accused the “Zamindars of Delhi” of trying to usurp the voting rights of the people.“Remember, we have to give them a befitting reply in a democratic manner,” Banerjee said in the X post.She called for unity, urging people to vow to break down the “walls of narrow-mindedness” and remain united against divisive and authoritarian forces.She also called on voters to vote in support of their democratic rights in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
