Bank of America app and website paralyzed: Users say mobile and online banking cannot be used; “Can’t access any content”
Bank of America apps and websites were down for thousands of users across the country on Saturday. Reports of the outage started appearing around 4:45 PM ET, with most users reporting problems accessing mobile and online banking services, DownDetector reports. Customers said they were unable to log in or access their accounts. Reports peaked shortly after 5 p.m., when more than 5,000 users reported issues with the bank’s digital platform.

One user wrote on DownDetector, “I called BOA and waited 45 minutes to confirm online banking and then the mobile app closed and my account was locked and I couldn’t use my card. Customer service was open until 6pm with no estimate of when service would be back online and no explanation of what was going on or what caused this. Unfortunately, it’s a waiting game at the moment.”
Another added: “Can’t access my bank account online. Website not working.”
“This is the fourth time in the past few months that I feel like they’re doing this on purpose,” one frustrated user said.
“Both my app and my wife are reporting errors when trying to log in,” another user reported.
One customer added, “Great. Just when you needed them, they were offline. Saw this message on their webpage – “We’re sorry, but we’re unable to fulfill your request at this time.” Please try again later. “Feeling sorry for those who tried to use their credit card and were declined.”
