Dhaka: Bangladesh High Court on Sunday dismissed Hindu monk’s bail application Chinmoy Krishna Das Free Mp3 Download He was denied bail in a sedition case and is currently on trial in a lower court related to the killing of a lawyer during clashes in Chittagong in 2024.Das’ lawyer Apurba Kumar Bhattacharya told reporters that a two-judge bench of Justices KM Zahid Sarwar and Sheikh Abu Taher will hear bail applications in four other cases against Das on Monday. “The HC rejected our bail petition as the Chittagong trial (subordinate) court was recording the statements of witnesses,” Bhattacharya said.Prosecutors earlier said 39 people were charged with the murder of junior government prosecutor Saiful Islam Alif, with 23 including Das being detained to face trial in person and the remaining 16 absconding. Das’s lawyers sought bail, saying Das had been languishing in jail for a long time due to illness.On April 30 last year, the HC had granted him bail in the sedition case for allegedly insulting the Bangladesh flag, but the appellate bench of the Supreme Court later stayed the bail order.
