The document lists 11 resolutions covering governance, identity, healthcare, infrastructure development, industrialization, agriculture, rural and urban development, climate change and “safe Assam”, the party said. The Congress party had announced the “Five Assurances” during Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge’s visit a few days ago.The 126-member Assam Assembly is scheduled to go to polls on April 9 and count the votes on May 4. The release of the manifesto marks a key step in the party’s campaign as it seeks to consolidate support ahead of single-stage elections in the state, which has been out of power for a decade.
