Asmongold or Zack Hoyt take a break during the live broadcast to show an official letter from the IRS (IRS) requires him to pay $397,000 in unpaid taxes. He then went on to reveal that this was only a fraction of the debt he owed this year and was actually a tenth of the total he needed to pay.
The video went viral, sparking discussion about how much the most successful content creators earn and how they pay their taxes.
In a recent Just Chatting live broadcast, Asmongold Shares that he has received a certified letter from the IRS. He asked viewers to take a few minutes to take a photo of the document and mail it to his accountant.
The IRS notice was reportedly a warning expressing “an intent to seize your property,” although Asmongold told his audience he believed the situation would be resolved. The streamer explained this simply to those in his chat: “This is not a good day for me.”
After a break, Asmongold returned to the broadcast to tell viewers that the figure was less than one-tenth of his annual tax bill, some of which was paid quarterly. He noted that he must find more tax write-offs.
An online analysis suggests that, assuming the $397,000 is about one-tenth of his total annual tax bill, his annual income could easily reach tens of millions of dollars. Creator analytics platform CreatorStats estimates that Asmongold has an estimated net worth of about $12 million in 2026, with about $500,000 per month (or about $6 million per year) coming from YouTube AdSense, sponsorships, donations, and streaming on Twitch and Kick.
According to Celebrity Net Worth, he is the co-founder of One True King, OTK (a large content production company), and the co-owner of Starforge Systems (a pre-made game company) personal computer company. According to a report on his streaming earnings, Asmongold has reported that he made $295,000 on Kick alone in one month, and another $32,000 on Twitch in the same month.
The video quickly went viral, with viewers reacting to Asmongold’s possible earnings. One user on
Others wonder why a streamer with such a high income level doesn’t have a dedicated accountant to handle his quarterly taxes. Asmongold himself seems unfazed as he believes the IRS issues will be resolved.
