Are there tornadoes in Kokomo? ‘Touchdown’ claim sparks concern in Indiana; sirens heard
Tornado warnings were reported Thursday for Kokomo, Windfall, Greentown, Russianville, Sharpsville, Michigantown and Indian Heights, Indiana.

“If you are in the path of a tornado warning, seek shelter immediately,” shares the page on the tornado warning famous. Fox59’s chief meteorologist also famous “A tornado warning is in effect for Clinton, Howard and Tipton counties in Indiana until 10:30 p.m. ET.”
One person also shared a screenshot of a National Weather Service warning about possible tornadoes in the area.
The warning lasts until 10:30 p.m. ET. Meanwhile, someone claimed a touchdown had been scored. “Touchdown 750 watts,” they wrote on Facebook. WIBC News reporter also famous “Possible spin was detected near Kokomo and Sycamore on the X.” However, officials have not yet confirmed if Kokomo scored a touchdown.
Still, the claim sparked concern. “Is there a tornado warning for Kokomo?” one said ask. Another commented: “We live near Western School and two of my trees just fell down and my swing flew away. The power keeps flickering.”
Another one explain “The tornado is now hitting twelve miles.” A local also noted that sirens were going off in the area.

Kokomo loses power due to tornado warning
The local scanner page reported multiple power outages across Kokomo during the tornado warning. The page states: “A Howard County Sheriff’s deputy said there is a power outage west of Kokomo. We are also receiving reports of an outage near the Howard County Criminal Justice Center. Additional outages are possible as severe weather moves through the area.”
It added: “If you have a power outage, please let us know in the comments and include your general area so others can see where the outage is being reported. Stay safe to avoid downed power lines and remember that intersections where traffic lights are not working should be treated with extra caution.”
The same scanner page notes that storm damage was reported across Kokomo, but doesn’t mention any mention of a tornado touching down.
“We are receiving reports of downed trees and large limbs in Kokomo following tonight’s storm,” they said. “As always, stay away from any downed power lines and treat them as energized,” the page additional.
At the same time, a local warn On Facebook “Acadia and Tipton are taking cover. Guys, hunker down! We’re under a tornado warning and the winds in Russianville are no joke.”
While reports of a tornado touching down sparked concern, many noted that tornado watches were in place. “We have a thunderstorm warning, not a tornado warning,” one person wrote on Facebook, while another added, “We are under a tornado warning.”
