This will mark a shift from the Qi-based wireless charging used by the iPhone 16e. The current model supports wireless charging up to 7.5W. With MagSafe, the new phone can support wireless charging speeds of up to 25W, providing users with faster wireless charging speeds.
Another reported upgrade involves connectivity. Apple may equip iPhone 17e with C1X modem. The company first launched this modem in iPhone Air in September 2025. Apple says the C1X modem offers higher data speeds and better power consumption than the C1 modem in the iPhone 16e.
