However, the judge hearing the case refused to release the 37-year-old man on bail. She faces multiple charges, including attempted murder, aggravated assault and traffic signal violation.
According to her Facebook profile, Lacey Cushman was a resident of Orangeburg, where Police Chief Adam Evans was shot.
Additionally, during Tuesday’s bail hearing, more details about the shooting of Adam Evans were released. It is now known that the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office called Chief Evans to respond to a report of a shooting.

Springfield Mayor Trent Steele said Chief Adam Evans arrived at the scene ahead of Orangeburg County police deputies and found Cushman at the scene. She attempted to flee the area in the Chevrolet and Evans attempted to chase her.
During the chase, Cushman reportedly fired, and one of the bullets struck Evans in the chest. He is now in stable condition and recovering.
